A new chapter of my life began...when I left a small lil' island called HOME to a much bigger island called TASMANIA... but, life is still going to be as blessed or even MORE BLESSED and CRAZY because God is watching out for me. :-) SO here's a testament to that!...

Simple-minded gobbledygook.

Many people think, just because you're an Economics and Law student, that you are always filled with deep and profound thoughts.

"What is the rule of law? What is law? Does the presumption of mens rea apply? What's 'truth'? How do you define 'truth'? What do you think of the political situation in this place and that? What do you think of the credit crunch? What is a credit crunch? What are we to do to avert this crisis???...."

Well, at this very moment, I'm just thinking whether or not I should take a quick nap and what I should cook for dinner later tonight. Mmmm...... Seafood marinara pasta sounds good...

Oh! Anyway, as I was saying... I don't think we should be so uptight and proper all the time - using archaic English jargon and superfluity to express one's ideas, pondering on what Socrates or some philosopher said back when Dinosaurs roamed the Earth(yes, that's how old I think those people really are...Dinosaurs probably went extinct just listening to them talk...Sorry, but I digress).

And, why are we so worried about which political party is going to win, how much the stock market has crumbled and whether interest rates will go up again?

What happened to the simple pleasures of life?

For example, buying a RM10.95 bottle of Kaya in England at the spur of the moment and laughing at yourself afterwards (see http://debbiemuses.wordpress.com/2009/03/20/420/#comments); or squabbling over what you should eat while sending off someone to National Service (see http://sarahkhoo-memorylane.blogspot.com/); or just having a good warm chat with your closest buddies over a nice meal.

Wow, I just realised that there is 'food' in all of my examples. I guess you can take the boy out of Malaysia, but not the Malaysia out of the boy.

What I'm trying to say is... Yes, life will get you down sometimes and we're all expected to take on more responsibilities as we grow older. It's about finding your calm in all the madness. Whatever it is, life was meant to be simple - like a long piece of string laid out nicely. Just be careful that it does not get tangled up.

"I've got the world on a string"

I've got the world on a string
I'm sitting on a rainbow
Got that string around my finger
What a world, what a life - I'm in love

I've got a song that I sing
And I can make the rain go
Any time I move my finger
Lucky me, can't you see - I'm in love

Life's a wonderful thing
As long as I've got that string
I'd be a silly so-and-so
If I should ever let you go

I've got the world on a string
I'm sitting on the rainbow
I've got that string around my finger
Oh, What a world, what a life - I'm in love

Here's a video of that song:-

Hey Daniel!
probably due to the fact that we're both law students, we alwez get the same typical comments from friends who's studyin other courses.

well, good food is still playing an important role in my life. I alwez thought i'll get rid of my eating habit once i'm here. but in fact, it stays and making me spend much more money than i thought!

I've got the world on a string is a song i like very much.
i like the Lisa Stansfield's and Frank sinatra's version too!!

miss ya.
