A new chapter of my life began...when I left a small lil' island called HOME to a much bigger island called TASMANIA... but, life is still going to be as blessed or even MORE BLESSED and CRAZY because God is watching out for me. :-) SO here's a testament to that!...

Of bloody steaks, smokey apartments and a nice night out.

I had what my OCF calls a 'Connect Night' last weekend. It's just basically different cell groups meeting up for a night of just pure fun. :-) So, my connect group decided to meet up at a restaurant(which has a Friday Night offer of $10 rump steak) to have a meal together and watch a movie after that. The movie idea didn't come to pass because the movie was not showing anymore. So, anyway, we had one heck of a meal. At least I did... ;-)

My meal of a medium rare rump steak with black pepper sauce. Sidedishes of fries and garden salad with a ten ounce of pale ale to wash it all down. If you think the picture looks like one humongous serving, I kid you not...IT REALLY IS!!! Lesson learnt, if you don't like your meat bloody, never order a steak rare or medium rare done... :( hehe...

Here's what another 2 connect groups did- A COOK-OFF!!! It was great fun!

Master chef's at work!

I had the honour of being a "guest judge" at the cook-out since I was not from their connect group. And believe me, it was SUCH a pleasure to be tasting the food! Who knew uni students could cook so well! ;-) And being the usual me, I acted like the Simon Cowell of food-tasting and provided all the nasty comments(it's not like I can cook as well as some of them). ;-) Besides being really tasty, the dishes were all very creatively named as well...hehe...but I can only remember two of them...

I forgot what this dish was called, but here's a suggestion to everyone: Try baking thinly sliced sweet potatoes with honey! It is SWEETNESS DOUBLED and simply DIVINE!!! ;)

This dish was called "Apple Isle". Apple Isle is a nomenclature for Tassie. The salty potato chips was to resemble the salty Bass Strait that separates Tassie from the Mainland and the funky looking round thing is supposed to be Tassie island. ;-)

And the dish I found which had the funniest name was this, aptly named "Waiter, there's a fly in my soup!"... haha...It's actually just normal sweet potato soup with one bit of ginger in it. Hehe...
